What is Celia?
Celia is Huawei’s virtual assistant, announced in March 2020. This feature is part of the software EMUI 10.1, launched on flagship phones P40 Pro runs Android. At a basic level, it copies many of the functions of other assistants.
To call Clia, simply say: Hey Celia. You can also double-tap the power button. Celia will appear ready to process your request. Like more established rivals, you can also set alarms, send text messages, check the weather, etc.

Celia is based on Xiaoyi (not Xiaomi), Huawei’s existing voice assistant, which was released for the Chinese market in 2018. How to install virtual assistant Celia
So far, Huawei has refused to offer Celia to third-party devices. To get the virtual assistant Celia, you need a Huawei device running EMUI 10.1 software. For overseas customers, devices such as P40 and P30, Mate 30 and Mate 20 are all supported with Celia.
So far, Huawei has chosen to release Celia in only a handful of markets (UK, Spain, France, South Africa, and some Latin American countries). This virtual assistant supports English, French and Spanish.
You may have to manually enable Celia to use this feature. To do so, go to Settings > Huawei Assistant > AI Voice. Then turn on ON for 2 features “Voice Wake Up” and “Wake with Power Button”.
Huawei and embargoed incidents
