ibus-unikey is an open source Vietnamese percussion developed for the Linux kernel operating system. This percussion fully supports Vietnamese typing methods similar to Unikey on Windows. IBus-Unikey supports Telex, VNI, Stelex2 typing and many more options. For Ubuntu Vietnamese installing IBus-Unikey is quite simple, but to be able to type Vietnamese on the latest Kali Linux version, you need to tweak some more settings for IBus-Unikey. Open terminal on Kali Linux and type the command:
Type sudo apt install ibus-unikey
Enter the password if Kali asks. The default password on Kali Linux 2020 is kali
Next type the command: nano .bashrc
Scroll to the bottom, enter the command:

export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
export XMODIFIERS=@im=ibus
export QT_IM_MODULE=ibus
Press Ctrl + X and press y, Enter.
