The Tor network is a chain of interconnected nodes that allow anonymous Internet use. Tor stands for “The Onion Router”, websites hosted on the service have a top-level domain of “.onion”. The onion websites are not accessible from a regular browser. They are the invisible part of the internet known as the Deepweb. Or more precisely Tor darknet.

How to find .Onion websites on the Dark Web that are still accessible

But if you can’t access onion sites with a regular browser, then how do you find onion sites? Find out in this article, and how to stay safe while doing this.

How to access the Onion website to the Deep Web?

You can only access the .onion website through Tor. To access the Tor network, you need to download the Tor browser. The Tor browser is a modified Mozilla Firefox browser with built-in extensions to protect your privacy when browsing onion websites.

The Tor browser is preconfigured to connect to the network, and the developers advise against editing the browser’s settings unless you know what you’re doing.

Additionally, changing Tor browser settings can expose your private browsing data to outside sources.

Visit page Tor Project and download the Tor browser. Open the Tor Browser folder you just downloaded and select Start Tor Browser. The browser will immediately check for updates. If an update is available, download it before using Tor.

Tor is one of those browsers that focuses on privacy and anonymity. Also, I recommend use Tor along with VPN.

Warning about onion sites

Onion and darknet sites in general, can host some horror content. Most of it is fiction, but you certainly won’t be careful about what you shouldn’t see. Most of the stuff is really terrible, it’s like a different world from the real world you live in.

You can create a website .onion for yourself to keep secrets that you don’t want anyone to know your identity.

Some people will criticize websites that contain such things but Tor allows them. Frequently asked questions about Tor’s abuse to do bad things.

Criminals do bad things. Since they are willing to break the law, they have a lot of options that provide better privacy than Tor.

This content is known to law enforcement, which, if not on Tor, would exist elsewhere. As the FAQ also notes, “Police still have methods to investigate what’s behind Tor.”

How to find active onion sites

Google Search makes a list of all the Web sites currently on the Internet. Web crawlers (bots) can crawl web pages and make lists of content. Indexed content will be found by search engines.

Tor Darknet also has similar indexing, although you won’t be able to find those sites through Google.

So you need Tor Browser. In addition, there are many websites that manage lists of onion sites, such as The Hidden Wiki, which you can see below. There are also onion address search engines like Ahmia, which allow you to search for onion addresses on the Tor network from your regular browser.

1. The Hidden Wiki

The Hidden Wiki

The Hidden Wiki is a common starting point for those new to the darknet. Older versions of The Hidden Wiki still exist but have some outdated pages and dead links.

The Hidden Wiki contains links for cryptocurrency wallet services, secure messaging services, domain hosting services, black markets, darknet versions of popular social networks, different versions (like 4chan, but on Tor), and more. It also has a long list of non-English websites.

2. Ahmia.fi

Ahmia.fi

Ahmia.fi is a clearnet site you can use to find onion links on the Tor network, but it also has an onion address. This is one of the best darkweb search engines out there, quickly providing links to onion addresses containing your search terms.

As with any Tor network search engine, you will always get incorrect results. The nature of the network is that not every address is searchable, and darkweb content isn’t indexed as nice and neatly as Google.

However, you can use Ahmia to find useful onion links, then copy them into the Tor browser for easier access. Ahmia filters out any content related to child abuse, but you’ll still find links to other adult content, so be careful.

3. Torch

Torch

Torch is a pretty well known Tor search engine. However, it does not function as a regular search engine. For example, using Torch to search for “Facebook” does not return the Facebook onion page. Instead, it returns a list of posts looking for advice on how to hack a Facebook account, where to buy a stolen Facebook account, etc.

4. Not Evil

Not Evil

If TORCH doesn’t help you find what you’re looking for, try Not Evil. Not Evil works like a regular internet search engine and is the successor of TorSearch (another Tor search engine) and Evil Wiki (another wiki site).

For example, searching for “Facebook” returns the official Facebook onion page. Searching for “Proton” returns the official Proton Mail website,…

5. Daniel’s Onion Link List

Daniel's Onion Link List

Daniel’s Onion Link List is a Tor directory stored on the Raspberry Pi. Geez huh? (Raspberry Pi has lots of great uses!) The Onion Link List is an index directory that gives you a brief description of the site, the date it was last seen and last tested, and the time it was last tested. point the site to the Tor network for the first time.

Now, Daniel’s Onion Link List covers every type of website, so read the description carefully before clicking the link. The site also puts the label “SCAM” on any website that tries to steal your information.

Safely Browsing Tor and Onion Sites

Most darknet users will tell you the same thing: don’t believe everything you hear.

Just listen to yourself, don’t trust any information on it, and never fill in any information, even fake information, and never click on any links. So you’re 99.999999% safe.
