AirPods are wireless headphones of Apple for ultimate sound quality. The music listening experience on AirPods is quite good, full of bass and treb. Currently on AirPods, there is a touch button for you to “call” music adjustment behaviors. But what if you want to change the gesture behavior? There are several settings that you should adjust to improve your experience. Here’s how to change your AirPods settings.

Once your AirPods are connected to your iPhone or iPad, you’ll be able to change settings and customize behavior from your device’s Bluetooth menu.
Change your AirPods name
On the screen of your IPhone, Ipad device, open Settings -> Bluetooth.
Here, you touch the word i on the right hand side.
You can click Name to rename AirPods to something else you like.
On the next screen, enter a new name and then tap the Done button on your keyboard to save the name. Now, select the Back button to return to the AirPods settings menu.
Customize function Double tap and hold to control AirPods
By default, the gesture of double tapping on AirPods and manipulating touch and hold will make AirPods Pro linked to Siri. If you’re used to a Bluetooth headset, you might want to replace it with the Play/Pause or Skip Next/Back to previous actions or options Noise cancellation.
If you’re using 2nd generation AirPods or AirPods Pro, the phrase “Hey Siri” will call up Siri at any time. So it’s best to reconfigure these gestures for actions that better suit your habits.

Turn off automatic headphone detection
If you don’t like AirPods automatically turning on/off music when you put on or turn off the headphones, you can turn off the “Automatic Ear Detection” feature that automatically detects the headphones. You can do this by tapping the toggle that turns green next to the option.
This is also a feature that helps the sound of your phone or tablet to automatically pass through the AirPods for you to hear inside your ears. If you want to use this feature manually, you can turn off the “Automatic Ear Detection” feature.
Left/right microphone option to use
Bya now, you can choose the left or right microphone of the AirPods to use. Just tap on the “Microphone” option. By default, your AirPods will automatically switch the microphone between the 2 headphones depending on which headset you are using.
But now you can choose to always use the right or left microphone by selecting “Always Left AirPod” or “Always Right AirPod” to force AirPods to always use a fixed microphone.
If you’re having problems with audio from one of your AirPods’ microphones, this can be a good way to fix the problem without having to replace the other earbud.
