Microsoft under Satya Nadella focused mainly on the enterprise side of Microsoft’s business and profits, but Nadella has finally confirmed that Microsoft is fully committed to Windows 10 with the new updates 21H1 and Windows 10. 21H2.

Over the past few years, Windows 10 itself has become more enterprise-focused, and Microsoft no longer releases updates with cool features to Windows 10. But in fact, the most feature-rich updates called ‘Creators Update and Fall Creators Update’ were released in 2018.
Windows 10 has always evolved under the “Windows as a service” model, and Microsoft has no plans to release Windows 11, but the tech giant is said to be working on a major design update for the operating system. .
This October, Microsoft released the last update of the year called ”Windows 10 October 2020 Update”. As you know, version 20H2 is based on version 2004 (May 2020 Update)which means 20H2 is just a slightly tweaked version of this year’s first update and all tweaks are related to the Start Menu.
There are rumors that Windows 10 operating system will have major changes, but we are still a few months away from seeing those changes firsthand.
According to reports and references found in preview builds, Microsoft is currently working on the Windows 10 21H1, Windows 10X and Windows 10 21H2 “Sun Valley” update.
Windows 10 21H1
Windows 10 version 21H1, also known as the ‘Iron’ update, was originally supposed to be the first major update in spring 2021, but plans have reportedly changed once Microsoft decides focus on Windows 10X for single-screen devices.
Rumor has it that Microsoft will probably only release a feature update in 2021 to make room for Windows 10X, a modular version of Windows 10.
If this rumor is correct, we could see Windows 10X in the first half of 2021 and then Windows 10 21H1/21H2.
It is also possible that Microsoft will choose to skip the 21H1 feature update and release an update with major user interface improvements.
In the last week of October, Microsoft released its first beta build from a new fork codenamed ‘Iron’ (Fe), but Microsoft officials are not yet ready to reveal if will there be a release of Windows 10 21H1 or not.
Windows 10 21H1 feature update cannot be completely ruled out and it could still release in the first half of 2021 with little or no change i.e. the opposite of how Windows 10 feature updates are released Currently.
Windows 10 21H2 “Sun Valley” Upgrade
With the Windows 10 21H2 update, Microsoft is planning to change the operating system with an upgrade to the Windows user interface, including Action Center, File Explorer, Taskbar and Start Menu (wait for it).
In the information, Microsoft describes the new user interface as “reincarnated” and it is said to improve the experience of both desktop and tablet modes with “optional features”.
Release Windows 10 Sun Valley (also known as Cobalt and 21H2) is currently being planned for the winter break 2021, so we’re about a year away, but the tech giant is planning to finalize the update in the second half of next year.
If that’s correct, we should be able to see the new UI improvements in previews in the first half of 2021.
The Windows 10 21H2 update is also expected to bring the native Fluent Design experience to the desktop with significant tweaks to core user interface elements.
I also expect rounded corners for application windows, notifications, context menus, and other important areas of the operating system.
Microsoft will encourage app developers to follow Windows 10’s new rounded corners approach. In fact, Microsoft has already started pushing rounded corners into existing apps, such as Calculator, Copper. lake, …
The Sun Valley update will also improve legacy components, and Microsoft may remove more pages of the Control Panel to replace it with their modern look.
This update will be complete by June 2021, and the changes should begin being made available to consumers later this year.
