How to Configure Mouse in Windows
On Windows 7/8/10, click Start, type “Control Panel”, and then click the icon that appears.
In the upper right of the window “Control Panel”change “View By” drop down select Large Icon to show all applications in Control Panel then select “Mouse”
Buttons
Tab “Buttons” offers three options, and they’re pretty self-explanatory. “Switch primary and secondary buttons” Swap left and right mouse functions, very convenient if you are left-handed and use the mouse with your left hand
“Double-click speed” set time interval adjustment double click of the mouse when executing on windows files or folders.
“Click Lock”settings that allow you to use the function click and drag without having to keep clicking. Most users won’t want this enabled, but it can be very useful if your fingers or hands are getting tired, or if there’s no hassle holding down the mouse button while dragging.
Pointers
The Pointers tab allows you to change the look and feel of the mouse pointer and the context cursor that goes with it. The collections of pointers are in “Scheme”: you can switch to a black or white cursor for better contrast in windows, or make the pointer larger or smaller to fit your vision.
In the list “Customize”, you can change the pointer of each icon according to the function of the pointer. Highlight a cursor or contextual tool, click the “Browse” button, and then select an alternate image. You can download the mouse pointer icon at the link below
Pointer Options
“Pointer Options” Allows you to control various settings related to your cursor on the screen.
“Pointer Speed” in “Motion” Allows you to customize how fast the mouse moves on the screen. Moving the slider left or right makes the pointer move slower or faster, respectively, in proportion to your mouse’s physical movements.
The “Snap To” function will help you automatically move your cursor to the default dialog button whenever a new window appears. This saves you time when a dialog box on Windows appears
Options in the group “Visibility” makes the cursor more visible on the screen in various ways.
- “Pointer Trails” will create a shadow when you drag the mouse away.
- “Hide pointer while typing” will automatically hide the mouse pointer, when you type, this is very convenient for office people who often edit documents, will not be covered by the mouse pointer.
- The last option allows you to press the Ctrl button at any time to highlight the position of the cursor. It is convenient if you have any vision difficulties.
Wheel
“Wheel” is to help you set about the scroll wheel of the mouse. Options in the “group”Vertical Scrolling” allows you to control what happens when you move your mouse wheel when looking at long pages. By default, when you move your mouse wheel a “click” it scrolls three lines of text. You can change that value here, or even set the wheel to scroll a whole screen of text at once.
Options in “Horizontal Scrolling” Partially control what happens when you let your side kick the scroll wheel to the other side. By default, pressing your scroll wheel sideways moves the page horizontally by three characters. You can adjust that value here.
Hardware
“Hardware” allows you to view the properties of the mouse or mouse connected to your computer. It is only necessary if you are troubleshooting your hardware.
3rd party mouse management software
If you use a mouse from other Logitech brands like Razer or Corsair, it may come with software that runs on Windows to control specific devices. The settings in third-party applications override the default mouse settings in Windows. You should read the instructions of the accompanying software or advise the company to configure the mouse in the most convenient way.
