While the security of biometrics is debatable, there’s no denying that scanning a fingerprint is easier than entering a password. This article will guide you to set up remote fingerprint so you can unlock your computer from anywhere. You can change your habits instead of entering a password or PIN.
If you have an Android device with a fingerprint function, you can use it to unlock Windows. AnonyViet had to test it and to my surprise it worked great. Extremely fast unlocking speed only about 1/10 second after receiving the signal.
How it works
When you authenticate with your fingerprint on your phone, it sends a data packet containing your login information to Windows for confirmation. All you need is both Windows and Android PC connected to the same WiFi network . AnonyViet did a thorough test of the app and it works great. This is used to unlock the Computer quite effectively.
Software required to unlock Windows with fingerprint
To unlock Windows with your phone’s fingerprint, you must first enable fingerprint scanning on your phone. And install the following 2 apps:

Configuration on Windows
You install fingerprint unlock app, then install to Windows. You need to choose the correct x86 or x64 version accordingly. During the installation process, you need allow bypassing the firewall because the validation packet will need to go into Windows for authentication.
To check whether the installation is successful or not, press Windows + L. This is the shortcut to Lock Windows. If on the lock screen appears fingerprint icon then you have succeeded in the first step.
Setup on Android
Now you will configure Remote Fingerprint Unlock on Android. After installation, you Menu bên trái - Scan -> dấu + bên dưới -> By Scanning.
On the screen will display Windows installed fingerprint unlock application.
- If you are using a normal account: Enter Username and Password to log in to the application. If you use a PIN, you’ll still need to enter your account’s password.
- If you’re using a Microsoft account: Enter the email ID you use and the password associated with it. Use a password even if you have set up a PIN.
- Once you’ve added the account, set it as the default account. Tap on the area specified in the screenshot below to set the default account.
Once everything is done, you can unlock Windows by:
- Run the app on your phone and tap the fingerprint.
- On the lock screen of Windows will unlock immediately.
This app contains ads but they can be removed by purchasing the Pro version. The pro version also allows you to add multiple accounts and PCs.
