New features of UniKey 4.6 RC1
On September 15, 2023, Pham Kim Long released UniKey version 4.6 RC1 with important features: Allows remembering and automatically turning Vietnamese on and off according to each application. This is a very convenient and flexible feature for users when typing Vietnamese on the computer.
Every time you switch to an application, UniKey will set the Vietnamese on/off mode according to the status you previously selected for that application.
For example:
- You can leave Vietnamese in Chrome browser to surf the web, search for information, send emails, chat with friends,… and turn off Vietnamese in the game to play games without worrying about typing wrong characters.
- You can also leave Vietnamese in Word to edit documents and turn off Vietnamese in Excel to enter data.
Thanks to that, you do not need to frequently turn Vietnamese mode on and off when switching between applications.
To use this feature, please enable the “Enable/Disable by application” option in UniKey’s settings window. Then, every time you switch to Vietnamese mode, UniKey will automatically remember your choice for the application you are using. You can change this selection at any time by pressing the keyboard shortcut or clicking the UniKey icon in the system tray.
