PopOS is one of the prime examples of how good the open source software community is. The recently released PopOS 21.04 brings a lot of new productivity-focused features and is one of the most popular Ubuntu-based distros in the community. Here are some things that PopOS does better than Windows 11 and why it can be the perfect replacement for Windows 11 on your PC.

Past time, Windows 11 has stormed all over the internet. Although Windows 11 brings many new things and improves on many aspects, many people have been disappointed with their PC not supporting Windows 11 because their hardware is old. But, open source always has the answer. The main goal of open source software is to solve problems, not to create more of them.
5 things that make PopOS Linux better than Windows 11
1. Old hardware? No problem!
One of the things people hated most about the launch of Windows 11 was that Microsoft wasn’t transparent about the system requirements. People believed that Windows 11 would run fine on their machines only when it was later discovered that Windows 11 only supports 7th Gen Intel CPUs and above and Ryzen 1000 CPUs and up.
If you think so then Microsoft has modified to cpu support TPM which makes things even more confusing. Luckily, you won’t need to deal with that mess on PopOS, as it runs fine on PCs with older hardware.
2. Nice taskbar
One of the major changes in Windows 11 is the taskbar. Taskbar icons are moved to the center. Microsoft says it makes the operating system look clean, but in reality we all know who Microsoft is trying to imitate :v. Of course, users can go back to the old style from the settings, but the feature itself is not very nice, except it looks cleaner than the Windows 10 taskbar.
Recently, System 76 added a built-in dock to the operating system, and there’s no denying that PopOS is also inspired by macOS’s dock but implements it better than Windows 11’s dock. You can do things like change reposition the dock at the bottom to the left or right side of the screen, stretch it to the edges of the screen, resize and set it to auto-hide or smart-hide to work with multiple monitors picture at the same time.
3. Automatically split window layout
Windows 11 introduced the Snap layout, which allows you to arrange application windows in specific layout patterns for better multitasking. While the feature is cool, it’s nowhere near PopOS’ auto-tiling feature. This feature also becomes the main advantage of PopOS.
With auto-tiling, the application’s windows will automatically arrange when you open them. You can learn a bunch of keyboard shortcuts and save a lot of time compared to clicking the mouse.
4. Emulate Android Apps in Linux Better
Another feature that Microsoft offers is installing Android apps on Windows. This will be possible by integrating Amazon’s app store inside the new Windows Store. Sounds great but you can’t deny that emulating Android apps on Linux is much better.
Unlike Windows, where you can only run apps, Android containers like Anbox allow you to install GApps (Google apps). This will allow you to download and run apps directly from the Play Store.
5. Linux is more secure
Linux’s open source community ensures that malicious attacks are prevented. I won’t say that Linux is completely secure. In fact, no software is completely safe, but it is certainly more secure than Windows.
Unless you’re running everything with access rights superuser. Microsoft made TPM 2.0 to mitigate attacks on the operating system, which should also make Windows secure, but the main question that needs to be asked here is, does it really make Windows secure? ?
