The easiest way to create a Windows VPS on Linode

As you know, Linode currently only provides Linux VPS creation by default. If you have a need to use a Windows VPS, you need to perform a few manual steps to Upload Windows Image to Linode. With Linode’s free 100$you can completely create a VPS WINdows 4Gb RAM using about 2.3 months.

How to create a Windows VPS on Linode

• You press the sign X Place Image to remove the Linux Debian table Go
• Select Location as Singapore or Tokyo, JP for the fastest speed.
• Select configuration RAM 4Gb for the best performance of Windows VPS on Linode.
• Press Create to start creating VPS

You choose to go to the newly created VPS, switch to Tab Advanced click Add a disk

In section label: windows then press the button Add

Continue clicking Add a Configuration

Pay attention to the correct selection of the following information:

• Labels: windows
• VM Mode: Full virtualization
• Select a Kernel: Direct Disk
• Block Device Assignment

Scroll down to select Submit

Now over and Menu Rescue, select /dev/sda: windows. Scroll down and press Submit

On the Menu select the button Launch Console to display the command prompt window:

Copy 1 of the Windows VPS installation commands on Linode. If you choose any version of Windows, use that command:

Windows Server 2016

After the download is complete, type the command reboot press Enter let the VPS reboot.

Now you go back to Linode’s Web, select Running -> Power Off. Click the Power Off button to turn off the VPS.

You see from Running state to Power Off then click on Offline reselect Power On to restart the VPS.

Now you reopen the command line interface in Menu Launch Console

Wait a bit during Booting from hard disk…. you will be able to access the interface of the Windows VPS on Linode. Switch to tabs Glish to see the Windows login interface.

Remote VPS Windows by Linode

To remote VPS WINdows on Linode with Remote desktop, you do the following:

On the Console window of the Desktop interface, click the Start button and type Allow “remote access to your computer”

Uncheck Allow connections only from computer running..

Back to Linode’s Website, see IP Public of the VPS Widows you just created. Select Menu Summarythe right corner will have room IP Addresses.

Now open Remote Desktop on Windows or use the software Remote Desktop Manager 2019.2 Full

Enter address IP Addresses to Remote.

User and Password Remote depends on the version of Windows VPS you created in the step above:

Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012 R2 are:

• User: administrator
• Password: P@ssword64

Windows 10 Pro

• User: WhatUpTime.com
• Password: P@ssword64

Note: After installing Windows on Linode, you must change the Windows password on the VPS. Because this is a free Windows share version, it is very easy to scan passwords.
