Difference between Google and Shodan Eye:
The most basic difference is that the Shodan API collects data on the internet, while Google collects it on the World Wide Web. However, devices that support the World Wide Web are only a small part of what is actually connected to the Internet.
Shodan Eye upgrades:
Shodan Eye upgraded from python2 to python3

In an announcement from python homepage, the developers have decided January 1, 2020 is the sunset of python2. Developers won’t update python2 anymore, even if it has security flaws. So you should upgrade to python3 as soon as possible. And this made Shodan Eye decide to upgrade to python3.
Save Shodan Eye search results as file
Now, you can save the Shodan Eye search results if you want. You can name the file and then the result will be saved as “.txt“.
Shodan will hide the character when you enter the password
If you enter the password (key) in the Shodan API, it will no longer be visible. The Shodan API key is stored in the file “api.txt”. You can also change where the key is stored via Shodan Eye.
Install Shodan Eye on Linux:

Get the Shodan API Key:
First, visit the homepage Shodan and create an account.
Or when you’re done logging in, go back to the homepage and click Show API key.
How to fix faulty Shodan Eye
- Open a new terminal
- Maybe your API key was rejected. Check the API key again. The free account on Shodan.io has a limited number of searches so this is most likely the cause of the error.
