Instructions for installing and using Zoom for online learning

Zoom is one of the leading applications for meeting and organizing online classes today. In Vietnam, I am using Zoom to organize online classes during that epidemic season. So we should know well about how to use Zoom. In this article, we will learn about how to install and use App Zoom.

How to download Zoom

If you only join Zoom meetings, you won’t need to install Zoom on your computer. However, if you are the owner of the association (teacher), ie the person who organizes meetings on Zoom, you will need to download and install this software.

To download Zoomyou visit the website Zoom’s Download Center and select the “Download” button under the “Zoom Client for Meetings” section.

Choose where you prefer to save the download. After the download is finished, you will see a file named “ZoomInstaller”.

Double click to run the software and Zoom will start the installation process.

After the installation is finished, Zoom will automatically open.

How to set up Zoom Meeting

Zoom will give you a few different options. Select the orange icon “New Meeting” to start a new meeting.

You will then be in a virtual video conference room. At the bottom of the window, select “Invite”.

A new window will appear, showing different methods for inviting people to the meeting. By default, you will be in the “Contacts” tab.

On this tab, if you already have a guest list, you just need to select who you want to invite to the meeting and then click the “Invite” button in the lower right corner of the window.

Alternatively, you can select tab “Email” and select an email service to send the invitation to.

When you select the service you want to use, an email will appear with different methods for users to join your meeting. Enter the recipient’s email in the . section “Big” and then press the . button “Send”.

Finally, if you want to invite someone via Slack or some other communication app, you can (1) copy the meeting invitation URL, or (2) copy the invitation email and share it with others.

When you want to end the meeting, just press the button “End Meetings” in the lower right corner of the window.

How to join a Zoom Meeting

To participate in a meeting, the “room owner” must first set up the meeting. Alternatively, the host can enable the option to allow users to join before the host arrives.

Using Zoom software

If you have Zoom installed on your device, you can join the meeting directly from the app using the ID or invitation sent to you by the host.

Open Zoom, log in to your account (1) or (2) you can also sign in with SSO, Google or Facebook.

After choosing a login method, you will be redirected to Zoom’s homepage. Here, select “Join”.

A new window will appear. In the first box, enter the meeting ID you received by email. Alternatively, you can enter a personal link name if you happen to know it.

In the box below, enter your display name, select Do not connect audio or turn off background video (Turn off my video), and select “Join”.

Now you are in the meeting.

Using Zoom Website

If you’re joining a meeting with another company, they’ll need to register the company URL with Zoom. Usually .zoom.us, but check with the host to make sure.

Once you have the company URL, open it in the browser. The landing page will look different from company to company, but the options available will be the same.

Click “Join”.

Now you need to enter the meeting ID or personal link name you received from the host. Then, press “Join” again.

Now you have successfully joined the meeting.

Use email link

When the host sends you an invitation, you’ll receive it via email. The first link in the message is the link to join that meeting. Click that link.

This link will take you to the meeting in Zoom.

Calling in a meeting

If you only use your phone to call the meeting, that’s also an option. In the invitation you receive, you will see someone’s phone number that I don’t know.

Call that number. When prompted, enter the call ID using the numeric keypad.
