Laptop or computer keyboards often install multi-function keys as keys F1 – F12. You can use these multifunction keys to adjust the volume, Playback (playback) or other features.

By default every function keys F1 – F12 will have a certain function. However, instead of using the traditional method of pressing and holding Fn . key + a function key any (F1 – F12)you can set just press any function key to perform the function you want.
1. Set Fn . softkey on/off mode
This way is usually to set the on/off mode function key Fn. Fn Lock has the same function as Caps Lock key. When Fn Lock is in the on mode, if you want to perform a certain function you just need to press the function key. Instead of having to press and hold Fn key + function key it’s like before. It’s the same when you use Caps Lock key to capitalize letters without having to press and hold Shift key + letter name you want to capitalize.
On your keyboard press Fn . key then press “Fn Lock” key to activate.

Some other models can use different combinations to activateFnLock.
For example, on Surface keyboard belong to Microsoftyou can activate Fn Lock by holding and pressing Fn . keythen press CapsLock key.
2. Change settings in BIOS or UEFI options
Many laptops often set the keyboard option settings on BIOS orUEFI. Restart your computer. On the screen will appear a message to press any key during the boot process to access the main screen, your task is to press that key. Usually the keys are F2, Delete or F10or use the new access method UEFI above Windows 8 or ten.
Search options to adjust, change this feature.
In the example is Dell Laptop, go to Advanced > Function Key Behavior to search for this option.

3. Change Options on Control Panel
If you install Windows above Mac mine is equal to Boot Campyou can open itBoot Camp Configuration Panel above System Tray and search option “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” under tab Keyboard (keyboard).
Above Mac OS Xyou can search for this option on System Preferences.System Preferences like Control Panel above Windows. Click on Apple menu and select “System Preferences” to open. Then click on the icon“Keyboards” (keyboard icon) and click on the option “Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys”.
Also you can search for this option on Windows Mobility Center. For Windows 10 or Windows 8.1right click on Start then choose“Mobility Center”.
Above Windows 7, press key combination Windows + X. You will see this option under “FnKey Behavior”.
