Grac is a technology application that helps collect and recycle plastic waste very conveniently in Vietnam. This application was built by a group of young engineers, with the mission of contributing to environmental protection and raising people’s awareness.
Grac operates under a model that links people with waste pickers, waste warehouses and recycling plants. This application allows residents to schedule to receive bulky waste collection service, receive instructions on how to properly classify waste, check and pay for waste disposal costs. All activities will be reported to the District People’s Committee – Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and complaints will be resolved if any.

According to data provided from Grac, there are currently more than 600,000 households participating in this application, collecting more than 365 tons of trash. It is expected that by early 2025, 1.5 million households will be digitized, together collecting 59,950 tons of plastic waste. By 2030, the application’s goal is to collect 589,500 tons of plastic waste.
Raise people’s awareness and responsibility
Grac encourages users to reduce the use of single-use plastic products, classify, and participate in plastic waste collection and recycling programs. This helps minimize the negative impact of plastic waste on the environment and human health.

Where is Grac operating?
Currently, Grac is testing in some areas of District 3, Tan Binh District and Go Vap District in Ho Chi Minh City. These are districts with dense populations and high amounts of plastic waste. Grac hopes to expand its scope of operations nationwide in the near future.
