How to check for a broken keyboard
To check if your keyboard has broken keys, go to the page Key Test.
Press all keys on the keyboard. You will know which key is broken right away.
First method: Remap the keys using software
Use the utility for free PowerToys Microsoft, you can assign the function of a broken key to another key that you don't use often, like Scroll or Caps Lock, or that has a function key.
To do this, first download it Microsoft PowerToys. After you launch it, select “Keyboard Manager”, then click “Remap a key”.
I will give an example of a broken Esc key and use a rarely used key Scroll Lock to replace key functions Esc.
In the “Remap Keyboard” window, click the plus sign (+) to add a shortcut.
The “Key” section is where you need to define the mapping key. In the “Mapped To” section, select the key that replaces the function of the broken key.
In this example, the Esc key is broken and I want to replace it with the Scroll Lock key.
Click “OK” and close the “Remap Keyboard” window, and the replacement key will be activated. Your job is to check to see if it works well.
If not or your Scroll Lock key is broken, then return to the “Remap Keyboard” window in PowerToys to change another key. You can also click the trash can icon to completely remove the key mapping.
Second way: Change Keycap or Switch
On keyboards there is a piece of plastic to print words called keycap, this is something you press every day, so for those with good hands, the possibility of damaged keys is also higher.
If a keycap is broken or lost, but the switch underneath it is still fine, you just need to replace the keycap and you're done.
You can gently pull out the keycap with a flat-head screwdriver. Just be careful not to use too much force, but if you slip or pry too hard, the keyboard will be destroyed.
After you remove the broken keycap, put the new keycap in and just press lightly and it will fit right in. If the switch is broken and you can't replace the hot switch on the key, it's best to take it to a repair shop. See how they fix it and then learn. If you have a problem in the future, you'll know how to fix it yourself.
As a last resort, buy a new keyboard
If the above options do not meet your requirements. Or the keycap replacement failed. In this case, it's best to buy a new keyboard, but this is too difficult, doctor.
If you use a PC, just buy a new keyboard, then plug it in and continue having a few fights. But if you use a laptop, you can still buy a keyboard to plug in and keep playing (laughs). Depending on whether your laptop is still under warranty or not and what the company's warranty policy is, the company will handle it for you.
As for taking your laptop keyboard to a “roadside” store to replace it, to be honest, in my experience, people only destroy old laptops to get a keyboard to replace you.
Here's a suggestion for you to use the bluetooth key very well: Keychron K2.
