So what exactly are UI and UX? Let’s find out in this article.

What is UI and UX really?

Think about the technology you use every day. Smartphones, laptops, desktops, even devices like dodgers all have two main elements: user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).

Adobe describes a user interface or UI as a place where people interact with machines. That includes everything from your smartphone screen to the keyboard on your laptop. It’s what you use to operate the machines to achieve your goals. User interface covers every aspect of how we interact with products.

User experience, or UX, is a bit harder to define. User experience is more about the intangibles of a product, like how you feel and what you think while using it. The idea was coined by Don Norman while working at Apple in the ’90s, and since then he’s described it as “everything to do with your experience with a product.” All aspects of someone’s interaction with a company, from the company’s services to the final product, can be categorized in UX.

Design coaching website CareerFoundry defines the difference between UI and UX this way: UI is how the product’s interface looks and works, while UX is the overall feel of the experience.

How UI and UX work together

Both of these elements are essential to every product design. For example, when a web designer uses responsive so that a website fits whatever screen the user is viewing it, it affects both the user interface and the UX. The interface works more smoothly, giving users a better experience when using that website.

User interface and user experience also affect a website’s accessibility. If a person with a disability cannot use a website, it is a bad user experience due to a poor interface. Fortunately, many designers are understanding that and are enhancing UI and UX experiences.

UI and UX Design

When building a new app, website, or product, UI and UX designers will have to ask certain questions during the development process. Looking at what each designer does can provide more insight into the difference between UI and UX.

UI Design Mission

A user interface designer is concerned with the look, feel, responsiveness, and interactivity of a product. Some of the tasks they may do include:

Do design research to gain insight into the latest design trends and gauge people’s expectations for good design.

Develop visual design including graphic elements, colors, fonts, icons, etc.

Design systems like style and template libraries to ensure the product’s design remains consistent with the brand.

Consider interactivity as a design element to improve responsiveness. That can include effects and motions that make the page or app smoother.

The work doesn’t stop there. Once the product has gone far enough, a UI designer can also prototype and test it to see how it works.

Design mission of UX

Jonathan Widawski, CEO of user testing company Maze, say “UX starts with a problem and ends with a wireframe or prototype.” Some of the things a UX designer can do:

Research users to identify problems people face when using similar products and how to solve them.

Information Architecture (IA), the practice of organizing elements of an application or website in a way that is easy to find and intuitive. Good organization of operations will help create an easy experience for users of the product.

Plan the project to ensure that everyone on the product design team gets to experience the test.

UX designers will also build wireframes – skeletonized versions of product interfaces – to see how they will perform and predict user experience.

Why are UI and UX important?

From a competitive standpoint, the product with the best user experience is usually the one that people choose when given several similar options. According to McKinsey and Company, companies that focus on design have twice as fast revenue growth as those that don’t.

On a broader scale, UI and UX come into the products that each of us uses every day. Hopefully you have grasped the basics of UI and UX after reading this post.

SOCKS Version 5 also adds high security and supports UDP (User Datagram Protocol). And in essence, SOCKS does not compile any data between the client and the server, but is only used in cases where the client system is protected by Firewall, and those clients cannot make a standard TCP connection. to the server (outside the Firewall), unless they are done via the SOCKS server.

Almost all web browsers today support the ability to connect across servers SOCKS. Because, the client must first make a connection to the server SOCKSand tell the server which host the client wants to connect to.

Still HTTP Proxy it is the same, used for the same purpose asServer SOCKSbut in cases where the client is behind the Firewall layer, it is also prevented from making outbound TCP connections – outgoing on the outside of the server.Firewall. However, unlike server SOCKS, HTTP Proxy can understand, and compile, the data streams – traffic is transferred between the client and the server, which we call the protocol. HTTP. And that’s why HTTP Proxyalso only used to process the above data HTTP. More specific, HTTP Proxy can easily recognize signals with repeated condition, cache those requests to improve system performance. And for that reason, many Internet service providers – ISP used HTTP Proxyno matter how the browsers are set up or configured, for the simple reason that all traffic is directed through port 80 on Proxy Server.

Here are some of the basic differences between Server SOCKS and HTTP Proxy.

Today on the Internet there are billions of Web pages created, and no one can access the content of all the Websites available in the world. Many believe that the worldwide web we see is just the tip of the iceberg. The two terms Darknet and Deep Web, in a way, justify the presence of this hidden web that most people are unaware of. And those who know about darknet often confused deep web. Meanwhile, both are completely different.

What is Deep Web?

AnonyViet also has many detailed articles about Deep Web and Deep Web Access. However, I will briefly summarize the concept of Deep Web in this article.

For centuries, as technology became advanced, humans built machines capable of diving to the bottom of the ocean. That’s how we were able to discover the rest of the Titanic. Google, Bing.. also do the same job by launching search bots. BOT will automatically access all Websites in the world to get information.

We may have found the Titanic, but there’s a lot we still don’t know at the bottom of the ocean. Similar to the case of Google, BING… they haven’t identified the different parts of the World Wide Web, that’s called it Deep Web.

World Wide Web (abbreviated: WWW), is an information space where people can access to access, view and write information through devices connected to the Internet.

For example, search engines will not be able to access the servers and websites that store data about government, NASA, Military secrets… But the deep web is not so mysterious. A website called Deep Web It could be right in your neighbor’s house. It’s just a network service that Google, Bing, etc. search bots can’t find. For example, the network is maintained by some paid service. It is a type of deep web or hidden web (hidden web).

Opposed to Deep Web, Darknet known to more people. This is an encrypted network built on top of the internet and requires specific software or tools to access it. It is possible that common protocols used on the internet may not be able to connect to the darknet.

Darknet provide anonymity to users. To access Darknet You need a browser Tor or Onion Router. Tor can be used to access internet websites on a daily basis and Darknet. The Tor browser uses the Hidden Service Protocol. And websites in the Tor network end in .onion. Therefore, Tor’s darknet is also known as onionland.

Friend-to-Friend (F2F) networks are a type darknet is different. In this case, two familiar people communicate with each other directly over the internet. They may want to share some files over a P2P connection. Such networks, inaccessible to others, may be encrypted or protected with a password. So only the people involved have access.

You’re a bit confused, aren’t you, keep it up!

What is the Dark Web?

Dark web (rough translation: dark web) is located in Darknet, you can’t can be accessed by normal means using specialized software (Tor). Because it is located in the Darknet, the Dark Web is not detected by search engines.

Only those who know the address of the Dark Web can access it.

In a nutshell, services and websites run on Darknet to be Dark Web.

You may have heard the terms 32-bit and 64-bit, but never really understood them. So in this article, I will explain what 32 or 64 bit is.

What makes a 32 or 64 bit computer?

Your computer architecture is 32 bit or 64 bit depending on the processor (CPU) inside your computer. There are three things to be aware of 32-bit or 64-bit: CPU, operating system, and software. Your CPU and operating system both affect the rest, so if you have a 32-bit CPU, you can’t install 64-bit Windows. And on 32-bit Windows, you cannot install 64-bit software.

64-bit CPUs are the dominant architecture at the moment. 32-bit CPUs are outdated, so unless you have an old computer, chances are you’re using a 64-bit CPU.

64-bit CPUs are exponentially more powerful than 32-bit CPUs because they can store and process more information. To understand the significance of the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit, you must understand a little bit about counting in binary. Unlike the decimal system, which has 10 digits for each place, the binary system has only two values, 0 or 1.

Thus, a 32-bit number has 2^32 distinct numbers, or 4,294,967,296. In contrast, the capacity of a 64-bit number is 2^64, or 18,446,744,073,709,551,616. Compare ~4 billion bytes (about 4 gigabytes) with ~1800 billion bytes (about 18 billion gigabytes or 16 exabytes) and you’ll see a big difference.

You can choose between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows that Microsoft offers when downloading and installing the operating system. Windows 11 only 64-bit versions are available, and Windows 10 to Windows 7 have both versions.

Difference between Windows 32 Bit and 64 Bit

If you’re using a 64-bit CPU, you’ll also need to use a 64-bit version of Windows to take full advantage of the 64-bit capabilities. 32-bit versions of Windows can also work on 64-bit CPUs, but are limited in what 32-bit operating systems can do.

You cannot install a 64-bit version of Windows on a 32-bit CPU. However, 64-bit Windows is backward compatible with 32-bit software.

There are two main differences that you will notice between 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. One is that the 32-bit version of Windows can only use up to 4GB of RAM (or less). Therefore, if you have 16GB of RAM in your computer, but use 32-bit Windows, it won’t use more than 4GB of RAM.

The other difference is the folder Program Files. On 32-bit versions of Windows, applications will be installed into the Program Files only. But Windows 64-bit has an extra Files folder Program Files (x86) for 32-bit software. This is because writing software for 32-bit architectures is vastly different from writing software for 64-bit architectures.

When programs want to get some shared information, like DLLs, they need to look in the Program Files folder. This is why Windows keeps them separate. A 32-bit program won’t know what to do with a 64-bit DLL.

Note that in Windows, 32-bit is called x86 and 64-bit is called x64.

Ancient versions of Windows, like Windows 3.1, ran 16-bit software. 32-bit versions of Windows are backward compatible with these legacy programs. However, if you use 64-bit Windows, you cannot run 16-bit software. You will have to emulate a 32-bit operating system to run these legacy programs.

Also, 64-bit Windows requires 64-bit drivers. If you have an old printer or device with only 32-bit drivers, it will not work on 64-bit systems.

Difference between 32-bit and 64-bit software

When you install the software, it will be different according to the 32-bit or 64-bit version. Some developers only offer the 32-bit version, sometimes they let you choose, and others will automatically install the version that’s right for your system.

If you’re running a 64-bit version of Windows, you should install the 64-bit version of the software whenever possible. But don’t worry if the vendor doesn’t offer a 64-bit version, as a 32-bit version should work fine in most cases. For example, popular apps like Discord and Spotify are only available in 32-bit versions.

64-bit versions of programs may not be faster. However, they will take advantage of the 64-bit architecture’s increased security and can use more than 4GB of RAM. As a result, they are often more stable and efficient than 32-bit, especially for heavy software like video editors.

Since 32-bit software works on any system, this is construed as the default version for some applications.

Of course, if you’re using a 32-bit system, only 32-bit software will work.

How to check if you are using 32-bit or 64-bit Windows

On Windows 10, right-click the Start button and select System. You can also access Settings > System > About. Here you will see Device specifications.

Besides SystemTypeWindows lists whether your system version is 32 or 64-bit, as well as your CPU architecture.

On Windows 7 and earlier, right-click Computer in the Start Menu and select Properties. Use the Win + Pause keyboard shortcut to open this menu on any version of Windows. You will see the item System type with your OS and CPU architecture.

Your CPU architecture and operating system should match. But if not, you can still upgrade. If you are running a 32-bit version of Windows 10 on a 64-bit CPU, you should reinstall to ensure the software works stably, I do not recommend using the trick to upgrade Windows from 32 Bit to 64 Bit.

32-bit Windows users on 32-bit processors cannot upgrade to 64-bit Windows. You need to upgrade your CPU or buy a new machine to take advantage of 64-bit. Any computer at the present time has a 64-bit CPU and 64-bit Windows. If you want to build your own PC, any CPU you find will be 64-bit.

Now you know the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit

64-bit is standard, but not always. Although Windows XP offers a 64-bit version, it causes some compatibility headaches so few people use it. Using a 64-bit system didn’t become so common until Windows 7 and 64-bit is now standard for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

4GB of RAM, a huge amount when the CPU was first designed, this is still a good enough amount of memory to use for light tasks. However, as component prices continue to fall, low-cost computers will have more RAM. Ultimately, this will render 32-bit systems completely obsolete.

In turn, developers will focus on developing 64-bit software, and this will be the norm for a long time.

What is HTTP?

The full name of HTTP is Hypertext Transfer Protocol. In a word, HTTP is a communication protocol. It allows the transmission of meta-media documents such as HTML.

In other words, HTTP forms the basis for any form of data exchange through the World Wide Web. That’s why it’s an important part of the URL. Without HTTP, you cannot browse the web, send or receive data over the internet.

Advantages of HTTP:

Flexible and extensible. Easily send, receive data and browse the web using HTTP

Stateless, easy to cluster and avoid the interaction of different requests.

Quick response. Communication over HTTP is almost instant unless your internet connection is unstable or slow.

Disadvantages of HTTP:

The transmitted content is not encrypted, if the packet is captured, the hacker can see your password.

If the identity is not verified, then hackers can easily disguise themselves as you.

The integrity of the transmitted content could not be determined.

What is HTTPS?

HTTPS stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. It is a web communication protocol whereby encrypted HTTPS data transmission takes place over a secure connection. HTTPS uses the SSL/TLS protocol to encrypt data sent or received over the internet.

In other words, there’s not much difference between HTTP and HTTPS in terms of functionality, just HTTPS with secure encryption. HTTPS is a secure version of HTTP, so it is suitable for transferring sensitive data such as login information and credit card numbers securely through the web.

Advantages of HTTPS:

Authentication: HTTPS authenticates information through an SSL certificate to confirm a website’s real identity and allow users to identify accurate site information

Encryption and data transmission: HTTPS encrypts and decrypts data using SSL encryption and secure sockets to ensure data safety in transit.

Data integrity: Using the HTTPS protocol, you can prevent data content from being stolen and changed in transit, so you can receive real and reliable data.

Improve SEO: Using HTTPS does not affect SEO but your website can get better rankings.

Disadvantages of HTTPS:

The cost of SSL certificates is high and it is very complicated to deploy, update and maintain SSL certificates on the server (You can use Let’s Encrypt, ZeroSSL for free)

HTTPS slows down website access due to repeated handshakes (protocol authentication)

HTTPS involves security algorithms that consume CPU resources, which means websites require higher server configuration.

Upgrade from HTTP to HTTPS

Once you have identified the advantages and disadvantages of HTTP and HTTPS, you should also upgrade from HTTP to HTTPS. In addition, Google is working to ensure that everyone is using HTTPS to increase everyone’s online security. Here are detailed instructions on how to upgrade from HTTP to HTTPS.

Step 1: Buy an SSL certificate

The first step when upgrading from HTTP to HTTPS is to purchase an SSL certificate. After you install the certificate, it will enable the HTTPS protocol, allowing a secure connection between the server and the web browser. You also need to choose the right certificate based on your needs.

Those options include domain validation certificates, business/organizational validation certificates, and extended validation certificates. It is best to purchase an SSL certificate from your hosting company so that you can ensure that it is working properly and flawlessly.

Step 2: Install SSL certificate

Now that you have an SSL certificate, the next step is to install it on your web server. The process is even easier if you purchase an SSL certificate from your hosting company as they will install the SSL certificate on your behalf.

Step 3: Check your certificate

Once you’ve installed an SSL certificate on your web servers, you need to check that it’s working properly. You can check using online tools from reputable sources like SSL Labs Server Test.

You also need to check that the internal link has changed from HTTP to HTTPS before going live to make sure there are no errors.

Step 4: Set up 301 . redirects

You need to set up 301 redirects after installing the SSL certificate so that you can redirect all server traffic to the new and secure HTTPS. When you do that, visitors/customers to the HTTP site will be redirected to a more secure URL.

Safe surfing the Web

The fact that you only visit HTTPS sites or that you have upgraded from HTTP to HTTPS does not guarantee that you surf the web safely. You can still be a victim of attacks like phishing, mailware, scam… and your data content can still be stolen if you don’t strengthen your security and privacy.

Therefore, I recommend you to visit safe websites to ensure your own safety. If necessary, use security tools like VPN or proxy to protect your privacy and security while browsing the internet. In addition, you can also read this post for more security methods to keep you safer on the internet.

Difference between Router and Modem 6"/>

What are routers?

A router is a device that connects two or more networks or subnets. It serves two main functions: managing traffic between these networks by forwarding data packets to the target IP address, and allowing multiple devices to use the same Internet connection.

There are several different types of routers, but most routers transfer data between LANs (local area networks) and WANs (wide area networks or WiFi networks). A LAN is a group of devices that are connected and limited to a specific area. LANs usually require a single router.

In contrast, a WAN is a large network spread over a large area. For example, large organizations and companies operating in multiple locations across the country will need separate LANs for each location, which are then connected to other LANs to form a WAN. Because a WAN is distributed over a wide area, it often requires multiple routers and switch (switch).

How do routers work?

Think of the router as an air traffic controller and the data packets as planes headed to different airports (or networks). Just as every plane has a unique destination and follows a unique route, each packet needs to be directed to its destination as efficiently as possible. Similar to how an air traffic controller ensures that an aircraft reaches its destination without getting lost or experiencing problems along the way, a router helps redirect data packets to their destination IP address.

To efficiently route packets, routers use an internal routing table – a list of paths to different destinations on the network. The router reads the packet’s header to determine where it’s going, then consults the routing table to find the most efficient path to that destination. It then forwards the packet to the next network in the path.

Difference between Router and Modem

Although some Internet service providers (ISPs) may combine a router and a modem in a single device, they are not the same. Each plays a different but equally important role in connecting networks to each other and to the Internet.

Routers form networks and manage the flow of data within and between those networks, while modems connect those networks to the Internet. The modem makes a connection to the Internet by converting the signal from the ISP into a digital signal that any connected device can understand. A device that can be plugged into a modem to connect to the Internet; Routers can help distribute this signal to multiple devices in an established network, allowing them all to connect to the Internet.

Example: If Bob has a router but no modem, he will be able to create a LAN and send data between devices on that network. However, he will not be able to connect that network to the Internet. On the other hand, Alice has a modem but no router. She will be able to connect one device to the Internet (e.g. Laptop), but not be able to distribute that Internet connection to multiple devices (e.g., computer and phone). And Carol has both a router and a modem. Using both devices, she can create a LAN with her desktop, tablet and phone and connect them all to the Internet at the same time.

Different types of routers

To connect a LAN to the Internet, the router first needs to communicate with a modem. There are two main ways to do this:

Wireless Routers: The wireless router uses an Ethernet cable to connect to the modem. It distributes data by converting packets from binary code into radio signals, which then broadcast wirelessly using antennas. The wireless router does not establish a LAN; instead, they create WLANs (wireless local area networks), connecting multiple devices using wireless communication.

Wired Router: Like a wireless router, a wired router also uses an Ethernet cable to connect to the modem. It then uses separate cables to connect to one or more devices in the network, forming a LAN, and linking the devices in that network to the Internet.

In addition to wireless and wired routers for small LANs, we also have a variety of specialized routers that serve specific functions:

Core Routers: Unlike routers used in home or small business LANs, core routers are used by corporations and large businesses to transmit large amounts of data packets in their networks. These routers operate at the “core” of the network and do not communicate with external networks.

Edge Router: While the core router manages the data traffic in a large-scale network, the edge router communicates with both the core router and the external network. Edge routers operate at the “edge” of the network and use BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) to send and receive data from other LANs and WANs.

Virtual Router: A virtual router is a software application that performs the same function as a standard hardware router. It can use Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) to set up primary and backup virtual routers, if one router fails.

Some router-related security challenges

Exploiting security holes: All hardware-based routers come with automatically installed software called firmware that helps the router perform its functions. Like any other software, router firmware often contains vulnerabilities that cyber attackers can exploit, and router vendors must periodically release updates to patch these vulnerabilities. For this reason, the router firmware needs to be updated regularly. Unpatched routers can be compromised by attackers, allowing them to monitor traffic or use the router as part of a network. botnet. Now there are Router Vulnerability Scan Tool to help hackers exploit more easily.

DDoS attack: Organizations large and small are often the target of denial of service (DDoS) attacks against their network infrastructure. Unregulated network layer DDoS attacks can overwhelm routers or cause them to crash, leading to network failure. Cloudflare Magic Transit is a solution to protect routers and networks from various types of DDoS attacks.

Login information: All routers come with a set of administrator credentials to perform administrative functions. These credentials usually have a default value, such as “admin” as the username and “admin” as the password. Usernames and passwords should be reset to something more secure as soon as possible: attackers know the common defaults for these credentials and can use them to gain permissions. Remotely control the router if you don’t change the password.

Red Hat, now a subsidiary of IBM – was founded in 1993, headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. A few years later, Red Hat Linux was born on May 13, 1995.

Early versions of Red Hat’s Linux distributions were called Red Hat Commercial Linux or Red Hat Linux.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is a Linux distribution created, maintained, and supported by Red Hat Inc., which was first released on February 22, 2000. This resulted in “Red Hat Linux” discontinued in 2004.

Ubuntu (based on Debian) was introduced by a UK-based company, Canonical Ltd., founded by Mark Shuttleworth, a South African businessman. It was originally released on October 20, 2004.

1. Target audience

Red Hat and Canonical focus on the management and licensing of open source software products for businesses.

However, Red Hat Enterprise Linux is just an enterprise-focused product, while Ubuntu is geared towards business and personal desktop users.

It is important to note that Fedora Linux serves as the upstream and serve non-commercial users. So if you want the Red Hat experience on your desktop, Fedora Linux will give you the closest thing.

2. Paid or free

The biggest difference between the two Linux distributions is its access rights and subscription model.

Although Red Hat is the largest open source company, RHEL requires you to register for the most part, whereas Ubuntu has no such requirement.

Since you need a subscription (you can’t download packages from the RHEL repository if you don’t), inviting people to “try out” RHEL can be a barrier for new users.

So in January 2021, Red Hat announced that individuals could sign up for free to use RHEL on their computers. It is limited to 16 servers at a given time.

While RHEL is free, it won’t be completely free if you have more servers in your business.

Tip, you can check the registry status on your RHEL system with the following command:

sudo subscription-manager status

On the other hand, Canonical (Ubuntu) has a relatively different working model. You don’t even need an account to download or use Ubuntu.

Canonical offers Ubuntu for free, and you only need to sign up (called Ubuntu Advantage) if you need commercial support.

If you have an Ubuntu Advantage subscription, use the following command to check the support status of your Ubuntu system:

ubuntu-security-status

For older versions of Ubuntu, the following command should work for you:

ubuntu-support-status

Overall, if you need expert help and want to access enterprise features, you’ll have to pay for Ubuntu and RHEL.

However, when it comes to personal use or standalone use of Ubuntu/RHEL, Ubuntu is completely free and RHEL limits usage to 16 servers.

3. Support Lifecycle

Using a Linux distribution is only interesting when there is a well-defined upgrade lifecycle and a known “shelf life”.

Here is a chart comparing RHEL 8 with Ubuntu LTS 22.04:

When it comes to RHEL 8, Red Hat has 3 phases to support:

Full support: for 5 years from release

Maintenance Support: for 5 years after “Full Support” ends

Extended life period: for 2 years after “Maintenance Support” ends

In the ‘Extended Life Phase’ you can select ‘Extended Lifecycle Support’ (ELS) to receive Security and Bug fixes.

Canonical releases a new LTS version every April in an even number (or every two years).

For example: Ubuntu 18.04 released in April 2018, Ubuntu 20.04 released in April 2020 and Ubuntu 22.04 released in April 2022, etc.

Ubuntu LTS releases are “enterprise grade”. You can see the version Long term support for more.

Starting from the day a new version of Ubuntu LTS is released, Ubuntu has the following two phases of support:

Hardware updates and maintenance: for 5 years from the date of release

Extended security maintenance: for 5 years after the initial support period ends, Ubuntu Advantage subscription is required

For a business, both distros are good at getting maintenance updates for a long time. But

4. Software repositories and package managers

As with any Linux distribution, both RHEL and Ubuntu provide and maintain first-party software repositories for their Linux distributions.

If you’re curious, RHEL has the following first-party repositories:

BaseOS

AppStream

EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux)

PowerTools

To fetch and install packages from these software repositories on your RHEL system, you need to use the dnf or rpm package manager to install, update, and remove packages.

Tip: when Fedora switches to using dnf by default, you should learn to use the DNF package manager instead of yum.

For comparison, Canonical offers the following software repositories for Ubuntu:

Main

Universe

Restricted

Multiverse

(extra) Canonical Partners

Since Ubuntu is derived from Debian, it uses apt and dpkg package managers.

Different Linux distributions using different packaging formats with different versions of libraries (sometimes, even the same library can have a different name on Arch than on Ubuntu) has created a divide Piece.

To get around this and package software in such a way that the same binary package can be installed on any Linux distribution (due to the same architecture), common packaging formats have been adopted. create.

Red Hat supports the Flatpak package with RHEL, as it was created by Liberationesktop.org (an effort focused on interoperability and sharing technology for open source graphics and computer systems).

And, Canonical supports snap package with Ubuntu releases (including LTS).

5. Other minor differences

There are a few small but significant differences between RHEL and Ubuntu LTS that I would like to mention.

Calendar release

As mentioned earlier, Canonical releases a new LTS version of Ubuntu every April, with even numbers.

RHEL doesn’t have a strict release schedule like Ubuntu.

Security

Of course, we know that Linux is generally safe, as it gets security patches faster. Maybe it’s one of those why Linux is better than Windows.

And, we also know that nothing is ever 100% secure.

In this case, the team behind RHEL and Ubuntu ensures that the Linux distributions are secure enough to protect all businesses.

The main difference between RHEL and Ubuntu (for enterprise customers) is the security system used.

RHEL (and Fedora) use SELinux as a security system. Ubuntu on the other hand uses AppArmor. The difference between them is beyond the scope of this article so I will not explain it here.

Container Virtualization

There has been a great advance towards software containerization on Linux as it provides easy migration (from a failing node to another working node), sandboxing, and other benefits.

And if you are a business, chances are high that you will take advantage of containers.

Both Canonical and Red Hat have container management systems to make things more convenient for you.

Red Hat has OpenShift (open source) in its product portfolio and is best used on the RHEL system (but is also available for use on other distributions). Red Hat also developed podman, an open source tool for working with containers on Linux, intended as an alternative to docker. This is achieved because it is OCI compliant.

Canonical has created MicroK8s (open source), called ‘Canonical Kubernetes’, for automatic deployment, scaling and management of applications contained in Ubuntu systems.

Should businesses choose Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Ubuntu?

As is clear from the above, both RHEL and Ubuntu are capable enough to handle personal and business use cases.

It depends on your needs, whether you want to subscribe (or if you find the subscription model expensive).

Ubuntu is a popular name for desktop and server usage, while RHEL focuses solely on enterprise services. So Ubuntu can be an attractive option for small/medium businesses or individuals who are already comfortable and confident using Ubuntu on their systems.

If you don’t depend on Ubuntu, you can try anything that suits your requirements or the technology that’s right for your business/product.

What is AI or Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence, or WHOis the ability of a computer or machine to mimic human behavior and perform human-like tasks.

Artificial intelligence performs jobs that require human intelligence such as thinking, reasoning, learning from experience and most importantly, making decisions on its own.

“AI is the science and engineering of creating intelligent machines.” – John McCarthy

Artificial intelligences can perform tasks exceptionally well, but they have not yet reached the point of being able to interact with humans on a true emotional level.

To learn more about AI, let’s take a look at some examples of artificial intelligence in action.

Robots

Industrial robots are a prime example of AI. Industrial robots have the ability to monitor their own accuracy and performance, and sense or detect when maintenance is needed to avoid “downtime” that wastes productivity. It can also operate in a new or unknown environment.

Virtual assistant

Another example of AI is virtual assistant tools which are interactive utilities between Human and AI. The most popular personal assistants are Google’s Google Home, Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, and Microsoft’s Cortana.

These virtual assistants allow users to find out information, book a hotel room, add events to the calendar, answer questions, schedule meetings, send messages or emails, etc.

What is ML or Machine Learning?

ML can be called Machine Learning or machine learning, which is a “subset” of AI that is capable of automatically learning from given data.

Learning/Learning in ML refers to the ability to learn based on available data and the ability of an ML algorithm to train a model, evaluate its performance or accuracy, and then make predictions.

For example, you can train a system with machine learning algorithms like Random Forest and Decision Trees.

The purpose of ML is to allow machines to learn on their own using data and ultimately make accurate predictions.

To learn more, check out some Machine Learning examples.

Recommend Products

Most e-commerce websites have ML tools that provide recommendations on various products based on historical data of user visits.

Eg: if you search for the product “Tiki Water Toothpick”, the next time you visit Tiki you will be prompted for “Water Toothpick” products of different brands, even discount codes related to the product. this or related products such as toothpaste, oral hygiene products, etc.

ML will make recommendations based on what you liked, added to cart, and other related behaviors like commenting, viewing comments, checking prices, etc.

Email Spam and Malware Filtering

Email Spam (spam) has become a big problem for internet users. Today most email service providers use machine learning tools to automatically learn and identify spam emails and phishing messages.

Eg: Gmail and Yahoo’s spam filters don’t just check for spam emails using pre-existing rules. It creates new rules on its own based on what it has learned as it continues to perform its spam filtering activities from user reports or user behavior.

Difference between AI and ML

Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science that aims to make computers mimic human intelligence.

Come to Machine learning, ML is a branch of artificial intelligence. It studies data and algorithms to teach computers how to make decisions like humans.

As defined above, AI is a broader field with larger applications. ML is a subfield of AI that teaches machines to make data-driven decisions.

In summary, all ML models are AI models, but the converse is not necessarily true. Both paradigms are geared towards creating machines that can learn things without being explicitly programmed.

Another difference between AI and ML is applicability. ML trains computers to make choices and make data-driven decisions, and improves over time as more data is fed to them.

On the other hand, the AI model has more implementations. So, the key difference between AI and ML is the scope of application. While ML is quite specific, AI targets broader implementations with more functionality.

Eg, Google Assistant is an example of artificial intelligence AI. It listens to your voice and delivers specific results. However, the speech recognition feature that allows the Google Assistant to listen to you is an ML model.

So, in essence, AI aims to train machines to perform human-like intelligence, and ML trains machines to make intelligent data-driven decisions.

Apart from the differences, there are a lot of similarities between AI and ML. For starters, both are fields of computer science, and it’s impossible to jump into one without studying the other.
