How to install and use Kasm Workspace

Step 1: Visit the homepage of Kasm Workspace here. Right-click Download and select “Copy Link”.

Step 2: Open terminal and run below commands. The first command used to access the directory tmp. The second command, you replace LINK_DOWNLOAD into the link you just copied and run the command to download the installation file of Kasm to your computer.

Step 3: Extract the downloaded file and install Kasm with the command below. In the first command, you just need to type to kasm and press tab to let the terminal automatically fill in the rest of the filename. The 2nd command installs Kasm with partition swap 8gb. If you don’t have enough hard drive space, you can use this command sudo bash kasm_release/install.sh.

Step 4: Once kasm is installed. You will get a list of Kasm’s access accounts. Save this list somewhere to log in in the next step.

Step 5: Open the browser and access the local host with the ip address 127.0.0.1. Then use the list of accs you saved earlier to log in to Kasm.

Step 6: Select Workspaces.

Step 7: Select “Add from Registry” to use Kasm’s pre-built containers.

Step 8: You can select the applications and operating systems you like and then click “Install”. In this article, I will choose Tor-Browser.

Step 9: After Tor is installed, you switch to Workspaces.

Step 10: At this point, you will see the installed application appear on the main screen. Tap the app you want and select “Launch Session”.

Step 11: So you have successfully accessed Tor on the browser.

If you don’t want to use that container anymore or want to delete data, just delete that session. To delete the session, you open the menu on the left of kasm and select “Delete Session” and press “Delete” Again.
